Trust
Trust.
A simple concept that so many understand, but so few understand how to give.
Three days and three talks later, I thank my friends for placing their trust in me. I promise our talks will be treasured and safely guarded, and I will do my best to make your lives into better ones.
To me, going through life is like sailing a ship. We are the captains of our own journeys and our maps are the paths to reach our future. The ups and downs of the crashing waves are the ups and downs of life. Some days can be calm and peaceful, while others are upsetting and harsh. There are times when the shining sun reveals the rocky dangers ahead, but this guidance can easily be forgotten when emotional rains turn the sky and ocean black.
In this darkness, some captains decide to abandon ship. But this isn’t what I want. In fact, I want the opposite to happen. I want you as captains to stay on your ships and feel like you have a fighting chance against the darkness. I want to be your lighthouse, your beacon of hope to guide you through the rocky areas of your life map.
If I can do anything for you, my friendly captains, I want nothing more than to be this lighthouse of hope for you. You have trusted me once, and now I want you to trust me once again. We can make it through these stormy times together, one rock at a time, until your ship is out of danger’s way and the sun is shining once again. It is possible. I believe in you, so please believe in me.
