Otoshi Poetry

Everyone deserves at least two chances.

People have off days, off weeks, off months and off years. Sometimes the people we meet are as far from their normal selves as they have ever been. It’s then only fair that people can have an extra life, one more chance to redeem themselves.

My first impressions of people have been off lately, but in a good way. I’ve been wrong 3 times now in about a school quarters worth of time, but all 3 people have come to be people I enjoy talking with.

I’ve learned that sometimes intuition needs a few extra checks before blindly following it. It’s an instinctual battle versus an intellectual battle.

Thinking back to last year, one of my closest friends from this year originally gave me a vibe that they would stab me in the back. As I’ve come to know them on what started like a chance encounter, I’ve learned that they’re one of the most trustworthy and interesting people I know.
